Frogs Into Princesses

I see a princess
waiting to be woken
with a kiss,
a sleeping beauty
troubled by nighmares:
wicked stepmothers,
dark knights
and dragons.

Perhaps it will take many a kiss -
soft words,
much patience -
to bring bliss.

You only see a frog
waiting to be eaten
by some stray dog.
